Write Urdu In Windows Xp Complete Softwares

It is a software that is shortest way to configure your computer for Urdu. When you install it, it will do following 3 tasks in your computer.

1. Activate Urdu Language in your computer.
2. Install Urdu Keyboard Layout.
3. Install most common Urdu fonts.

There are the manual steps, required to install & configure your computer for Urdu Language. If you have done the process above, you don’t need to follow the steps below.

To Read URDU websites

Download this zip file for all fonts or Individual fonts from Below
Extract it and copy in case you downloaded zip file
OR
Copy font file if you downloaded individual files
Go to Start->Setting->Control Panel->Fonts
Click the menu Edit->Paste
OR
Click menu File->Install new fonts, choose the path to downloaded fonts, select the fonts and Click OK button
Alternatively you can copy font files into directory C:\Windows\Fonts\

To Write URDU from your computer

You need to install Phonetic keyboard to your windows operating system. For that please visit below url to install Keyboard for Windows Vista and Windows XP
After downloading the zip file, extract it and run setup file “Phonetic.msi”

How To Install Urdu Phonetic Keyboard

1-Unzip the attached file and install Phonetic.msi

2-After confirmation message “Phonetic has been successfully installed” go to control panel

3-Double click “Regional and Language options” icon.

4-Press “Language” tab.

5-Press “Detail” button.

How To Write Urdu In Windows Xp

Open control Panel on your computer Start :>>Control Panel. In Control Panel Select "Regional and Languages Settings" . 

A new dialog box will open, select Languages in that dialog box menu. Check " install files for complex script and right to left languages (including thai)  

Now you will be prompted to insert Microsoft Windows XP CD into CD-ROM or what ever ROM you have, Insert the CD and wait for installation to complete. Ok we have completed first step, congratulations. 

Now again, open Regional and languages setting , select languages tab and select details there.  

You will see input language, that most probably will be US. Click On add as shown in figure. 

New window will open now, here select Urdu in input language and keyboard layout Phonetic/IME.  

Here we go, we are all set to use Urdu on our computer. If you have followed all steps above you will see language option near clock. You can either change language by mouse or can toggle between languages by pressing " left alt+shift" keys.
If Language bar is invisible in task bar then  see second last image on the left hand side click language bar and then click show language bar.
